The VoIP Net has provided hurricane Skywarn net and traffic monitoring for many years. Those residing in affected areas are encouraged to participate by giving direct and measured observations. Others may connect as listen-only. The regular Saturday evening nets are weekly forums for check-ins and discussion. When a tropical cyclone impacts points around North America or the Caribbean, the nets become round-the-clock operations with reports taken by WX4NHC at the National Hurricane Center.
